Multistudio is an architecture and multidisciplinary firm headquartered in KC for nearly 50 years.  Like ifmaKC, Multistuido believes in the importance of sharing their expertise to influence change and bring awareness of their profession to youth and minorities in our local communities.

In our January Monthly Meeting ifmaKC will learn how, in 2014, Multistudio established a partnership with Rockhurst University’s Department of Education to form STEAM Studio, a 501 (c)(3) experimental education program. Multistudio donates the lab space within our Kansas City studio location for three to five days a week as an opportunity to learn alongside students and educators exploring creative ways to teach. Multistudio design professionals serve as mentors, provide feedback for student pitches, and use the immersive experiences to better empathize with educators, informing new insights into education design.

Multistudio and IFMA KC's Student Liaison committee share a common commitment to providing alternative career paths, particularly addressing the challenge of attracting young adults to the often-overlooked fields of facilities and STEAM trades. Both organizations aim to inspire local students of all ages, fostering an interest in these industries and bridging the gap between education and the opportunities within these career fields.

Join us to learn about Multistudio, get a tour of their very cool offices (once a large commercial laundry on the trolley track, built in 1920's), and also hear how ifmaKC and Multistudio might collaborate in the future.

As an FYI, parking will be off street in the busy Westport Business District, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time to find a space.
