The topic of the April Program meeting is Negotiating Lease Agreements. Our speaker will cover some of the basic do's-and-dont's of lease negotiation as well as the finer points of the leasing process. Join us for lunch, networking and an extremely informative program. 

 

 

Mark Long MARK C. LONG, SIOR, CCIM, LEED AP

Mark Long serves as an executive managing director and principal with Newmark Grubb Zimmer, where he is responsible for the brokerage division and is a member of the firm’s board of directors. One of the region’s most active real estate professionals, Mr. Long has been involved in more than 600 transactions representing more than 15 million square feet of industrial, medical, office and retail space. Mr. Long joined Newmark Grubb Zimmer upon graduating with honors from Rockhurst University in 1995.

 

PARTIAL LIST OF LEASE TRANSACTIONS:

As a tenant representative:

  • Represented OHL in more than 2 million SF of industrial leases
  • Represented B.H. Properties in a 517,000 SF building lease to Comprehensive Logistics

 

As a landlord representative:

  • Represented the owner, CenterPoint Properties, Inc., in the leasing of over 1 million SF and 375 acres at CenterPoint Intermodal Center –  Kansas City
  • Represented the owner, Space Center Kansas City, Inc., in the leasing of a 5 million SF underground development
  • Represented Crown Center and Hallmark Cards in various projects, including more than 500,000 SF of office leases and over 1 million SF of industrial leases, including Children’s Mercy Hospital
  • Handled sale of property valued at over $20 million, acquired by University of Kansas Hospital for cancer center
  • Represented buyer in purchase of 23-building, 721,883 SF Lenexa Industrial Park
  • Represented Artemis and Odyssey in the development and disposition of a 500,000 SF speculative Class A industrial facility
  • Represented International Paper in regional real estate transactions including a 280,000 SF build-to-suit for the regional headquarters of Xpedx and the disposition of a 220,000 SF office/warehouse building
  • Represented Lee’s Summit R-VII School District in various site acquisitions

Parking: From Burlington in N. Kansas City,  head West on either 15th or 16th street to Clay Street.  There is a sign on Clay for iWerx parking.  There is a sign on the building for iWerx.

Note: The building is actually on Burlington but the entrance is in the back adjacent to the parking lot.  There is no entrance from Burlington.

Registration Deadlines:

Due to catering order requirements, registrations/RSVPs must be received by (or canceled by) 12:00 noon on the Friday before the meeting. (48 business hours before the Program Meeting). Cancellations not received by the deadline will be charged/billed for the meeting.
If your registration is not received by the deadline, we will not be able to provide you with food or drink. We do, however, encourage you to attend. To do so, join us and pay the regular program fee at the door by cash or check and join us at the meeting.
